Declaration
of Accessebility

The ARE Austrian Real Estate GmbH (short "ARE") endeavors to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Federal Act on Accessible Websites and Mobile Applications of the Federal Government (Web Accessibility Act – WZG) BGBl. I. No. 59/2019, as amended, in a barrier-free manner.

This accessibility statement applies to https://www.are.at/

Compatibility with Requirements

This website is partially compliant with Conformance Level AA of the "Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.1" or the applicable European Standard EN 301 549 V3.2.1 (2021-03) under Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and the Council.

Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible for the reasons stated:

a. Incompatibility with accessibility regulations

Some images lack alternative text, making this information inaccessible to screen reader users. Therefore, WCAG Success Criterion 1.1.1 (Non-text Content) is not fulfilled. All non-decorative images will be continuously supplemented with alternative text.

Many of our PDF documents, flipbooks, and Word documents are not accessible. For example, they are not tagged, making them insufficiently captured with structural information by screen reader users. Thus, WCAG Success Criterion 4.1.2 (Name, Role, Value) is not fulfilled. These documents are continuously replaced with accessible PDF documents.

WCAG Criterion 1.4.3 Contrast (minimum) is partially not fulfilled. We are working on providing a high-contrast mode, which can be activated by clicking on the contrast icon in the header area.

b. Disproportionate burden

Our videos do not have audio descriptions. Therefore, WCAG Success Criterion 1.2.5 (Audio Description Prerecorded) is not fulfilled. We have assessed the costs of addressing the issue and believe it would now represent a disproportionate burden in accordance with accessibility regulations.

Enforcement Procedure

In the case of unsatisfactory responses from the above-mentioned contact option, you can file a complaint with the Complaints Office of the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG). The FFG accepts complaints electronically through the Contact Form for complaints concerning digital accessibility. The FFG reviews complaints to determine whether they pertain to violations of the provisions of the Web Accessibility Act, particularly deficiencies in meeting accessibility requirements, by the federal government or an entity associated with it.

If the complaint is found to be valid, the FFG is tasked with issuing recommendations to the federal government or the relevant legal entities and proposing measures to rectify the identified deficiencies.
